Just a few blocks from all the important sites such as the central park, railroad station, main post office, and main square, it's the ideal place to stay. The area also has some nice restaurants, with a few choices across the street. The service is four stars at reception and in the dining room.

      Zagreb with Vedran

Had breakfast and met Vedran at 9:30 am, then set off for the day. We first went to the Central Park called Zrinievac, small by our standards. He explained that everyone first lived on the two hills and were separate towns, Kaptol and Gradec which had a creek running between them - Medvescak Creek. Later the two town united and tiled over the creek …

      Chugging to Zagreb

We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the train station, not the most modern station we have been to, in fact not much of a station at all. The train matched the station, run down old worldly. We learnt that there was to be track work and we would be transferred to a bus to complete the trip to Zagreb. We were not told that there was no …

Did a walking tour of Zagreb with Ivan today. Very good, enjoyable and informative. After that Judy, Dianne, Lesley, Julie and I had cake and coffee at Cafe Audi which was in the main square and very fancy pants.

Judy, Julie and I then walked the green horseshoe (which is what the locals refer to a section of their city interspersed …

Went via Lake Balaton in Hungary and crossed boarder north of Zagreb into Croatia.

We did a walking tour of Lake Balaton with it's picturesque church overlooking the lake.

Had lunch with Judy, Helen and Gordon, Jack and Carol. Terribly rude staff and then had half of Gordon's beer split in my lap by the waiter. At least he …

It was about 50 degrees this morning when we got up and foggy. CK Shuttle picked us up at 8 AM for the trip to Salzburg. There were 8 of us in the van and all the others were Asian. David, our driver, talked for two of the three hours on the trip. He was fluent in 4 languages and has traveled all over the world although fairly young. The trip was …
