Wonderful hotel and only a brief walk to some of the loveliest architecture the city has. The hotel rooms were clean, comfortable and modern with coffee/tea, refrigerator, TV, and wifi in the room. Bathroom was modern and clean. Meals were only fair...we had breakfasts and one dinner here. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Just a few blocks from all the important sites such as the central park, railroad station, main post office, and main square, it's the ideal place to stay. The area also has some nice restaurants, with a few choices across the street. The service is four stars at reception and in the dining room.

Did a walking tour of Zagreb with Ivan today. Very good, enjoyable and informative. After that Judy, Dianne, Lesley, Julie and I had cake and coffee at Cafe Aida which was in the main square and very fancy pants.

Judy, Julie and I then walked the green horseshoe (which is what the locals refer to a section of their city interspersed …

Zaterdagmiddag vertrekken we richting Zagreb, onze volgende tussenstop.

On day 10 we took a walking tour of Zagreb. The city of about 800,000 has been Croatia's capital, intermittently, since 1557. Our first stop was modern Donji Grad, or Lower Town, whose well-designed street grid was laid out in the 19th century. This area is home ot many of Zagreb's civic and historic monuments. We took a ride on the funicular …

Had breakfast and met Vedran at 9:30 am, then set off for the day. We first went to the Central Park called Zrinievac, small by our standards. He explained that everyone first lived on the two hills and were separate towns, Kaptol and Gradec which had a creek running between them - Medvescak Creek. Later the two town united and tiled over the creek …

We were picked up from our hotel and taken to the train station, not the most modern station we have been to, in fact not much of a station at all. The train matched the station, run down old worldly. We learnt that there was to be track work and we would be transferred to a bus to complete the trip to Zagreb. We were not told that there was no …
