Zagreb and the best pastry in the world!!!!

... in. Nonie has 2 months off to travel around and wants to go to places I haven't been yet so will be good to have a travel buddy for a while.
Walked around town a bit more and then went to Mali Medo for dinner as Leo recommended them for food and beer they brew themselves.
Had a huge mixed platter of chicken, sausage, meatballs, beans and potatoes with a strong dark lager and a brown ale ...

Zagreb

... Why on earth do they come here?! Well, Europeans are weird. Proof? Eurovision. Many of the ones that travel might speak English - but that's all they ever speak. it's a brilliant indication of what things woud be like if Esperanto had caught on (thank goodness it didn't?).

Well, I went out again in the evening and things look quite different. The standard ...

Croatia & Cross-Cultural Psychology

During the second session of DIS I studied Cross-Cultural Psychology and while we focused mostly on theories in general psychology, when we went to Croatia for our study tour we got to experience and learn about the Croatian culture. It was interesting to discover the Croatian history, how young the nation is (it became independent in 1991!), and the religious struggle that is still occurring. As part of ...

Just keep walking, and maybe I find the hostel

... the train station and catch a tram, turn right and maybe find another hostel or walk up, perfect for the back side. I had been walking for about 2 hours before this point. I decided stuff it up we go. Walking up i think at one stage I coughed up a lung. I then finally found the street I needed and I thought I had found the hostel, so I walked over to the door and tried to open the door, all of a sudden someone ( a lady, sitting on the ground before her ...

Last Croatian stop

... I was really looking forward to eating some guacamole, but they had no avocadoes...at a mexican restaurant! It seemed so bizarre! haha. But the food was good, and we had a nice time. At 10 pm, as Katie headed back to the hostel, Tom and I met up with Doris and Marija, the two Croatian friends we met in Split, and we stayed out all night. We started in an Irish pub, followed by a bar with local Croatian musicians, and finally a sort ...

V.I.P and the Search for Weed

... for some weed. Me: Yeah, that's what your boy told me. I hooked him up with some. It's a mix from Amsterdam and Croatia. Blueman: Who'd you give it to? Me: Your boy over there. By this time, I forgot about the beautiful girl. (Reya - If by chance you ever read this, I'm sorry for ignoring you. Send me a comment so we can be in touch again.) Blueman and I go on with the small talk for a little while longer ...

Split to Zagreb

... went to bed. We wouldn't arrive in Venice until 7:00 so we thought we would get a lot of sleep. But we found out quickly that every border we crossed the train stopped to check our passport, and one time we were awoken by both border crossing people, and customs. This happened about 5 times - - but we did get a few more stamps in our passport, and had a reasonably decent night sleep.

... and initially it seemed it was a bit girl power type hippy place but it got better. We were in the Zen dorm room, and it was quite cool! There was a photo of the Dalai Lama watching over us which made us want to sit and pray with incense all the time... We wandered around the city, down to the river Danube that separates the previously different cities of Buda and Pest, and it was beautiful down there! Lots of statues, stately buildings and bridges across to ...

You will not know what I mean until you try it yourself. At midnight we were celebrating the New Year and wishing each other the best luck. Me and Ola got almost the whole bottle of a good Ukrainian champaigne. After we had finished the bottle and took some pictures ...
