Retiro Park - a huge, beautiful, green and lush park smack in the city - is where we started today. There is a rectangular man-made lake with rowboats and a motored tourist boat. Across the water is a huge, ornate marble and bronze monument to King Alfonso XII that is 30 meters high; 58 wide; and 86 long. There is a grand staircase and there are so many statues it is hard to see them all. ...

Some wonderful works and more waiting to be seen at the 2 other recommended museums but we don't want to spend all of our limited time here indoors, so they will have to wait for another trip. We spend as much time as possible strolling the streets experiencing how people here live.

Third day is when we will pick up our rental car, plug in our GPS and head south (a drive of about five and a half hours) where our apartment in Almunecar awaits.
