We aborted our posting during the trip as it became prohibitively time consuming to upload photos without our own computer. That being said we still wanted to finish our travel blog with BY FAR our favorite stops (Slovenia and Lebanon). Slovenia is truly beautiful. In addition to its overwhelming natural beauty, the neatly manicured medians and tidy villages sat well with Mike's obsessive compulsive disorder and stood in sharp contrast the garish rest stops along the Italian autostrada. The T...

Bled, Slovenia traceybelleThis morning at 7am, I didnt realize I would be doing quite a few things I have never done in my life.

Luggage update: The luggage was found and delivered to Ljubljana airport in Slovenia! We picked it up from the airport and when the lost and found guy brought them out from the storage room, I told him, "I love you!" He quickly ran away pretending he didnt speak English:) After examining the luggage, I noticed my little ...
Bled, Slovenia marychi... got there. Even Dino has to admit that this guy could beat him hands down in a talking competition. We have decided it is quicker for us to take the long way around. After doing nothing much for the last couple of days, except a few repairs to our stuff, washing our clothes and the like, we figured once again it was about time to do something like what we started this trip for. We headed up to the Triglav National Park and the Vintgar Gorge. It took us a ...
Bled, Slovenia dinoshona... robbed if I don't get a decent dose of time outdoors during this time. This trip has done the trick nicely and now I think I'm ready to hunker down to four odd months of English winter. We've done two days on the cycling trails now with a trip to Bohinj as well, so I think with a little encouragement Frances will be a veteran biker in no time. Just remember to get a spongy seat and handgrips next time. The biking for me and been so great I think I wouldn't mind ...
Bled, Slovenia gypsyfeet... city; its certainly not as grand and spectacular as other capital cities in europe, but there is defintiely a special charm about it that i love. There are also lots of day trips you can take outside of the city where you can check out the caves, go rafting, canyoning, paragliding etc. i would love to come back here one day when it's not raining!
Ljubljana, Slovenia yhuang82... The city itself is small with around 270,000 people. The main part of town is a walking area and there is a lovely castle on the hill. There is a nice small river running through the town with many bridges to allow you to cross to get to the castle. We spent most of Monday here and then took off to Lake Bled which was another 45 minute drive north west.
Ljubljana, Slovenia bernieoh... of women have red hair -Restrooms are called water closets and tolets -You don't get ice in your water -Diet Coke is called Coke Light -All guys under 25 are really cute! (AGAIN, I WAS 13....BUT THAT IS STILL AN OBSERVATION I LIKE MAKING!) We also went out to dinner tonight and I was falling asleep at the table! March 21, 2000 -Today was alot of fun! Ljubljana, Slovenia forteetgratum... leaving and finding another hostel. I headed out to see the town. It's a really cool atmosphere here. The main square was like a big party, a radio station was playing music, and there were a bunch of mannequins tied on wires above the square. Ljubljana has the highest concentration of street cafes anywhere. They're everywhere. Kebab joints are quite popular here, as well as more western style places. After stopping off for some Doner Kebab for dinner, I ...
Ljubljana, Slovenia dig_swashb... sight seeing we took off to find a spot for the night, there was a bit of a traffic jam as we winded our way around the road and we pulled over to let the cars past and next minute the New Zealanders were beside us hanging out the car and invited us to park in their driveway for the night. Tonight we got to talk with these guys and Vinca cooked us all a wonderful home made meal and we spent the rest of the night chatting (oh and Gem was happy because she got to do all the clothes ...
