Best Western Premier Chantermerle Serre-Chevalier

My parents love the mountains and have always gone to the Alps for their summer vacation since we were born. As a kid and a teenager I always joined them with my brother and sister. But I haven't had the opportunity to do so (except for in 2005) since I moved to the US.
So this year being devoted to traveling and time with friends and family, I joined them for two weeks and a half in Orcieres, a town in the ...

... that the next night, in the Loire Valley, we found a place for three nights that is quiet and comfortable (and there's a pool!).
Back to the journey. There really isn't much to tell about the trip from Briancon to the Loire. We went along the Rhone River which is industrial and not very pretty. We weren't there long before the road took us west through rolling hillsides to the flat planes of the Loire Valley. Miles and miles of cows, corn ...

... drove over one of the passes to the beautiful Lake Cenis. There is an old village submerged in it, but you can see some evidence of it as the water is still low. You can also see the Italian Alps at this point. We saw lots of grazing animals, a few ski areas, and a very simple, mountain lifestyle to enjoy. We certainly would not have known about this place without Yasmine's help, so a big merci to her and her family for letting us check it out! A bientot, -Jamie et Stopher

... Tosin Dägä on tiukkana, että sänkypaikka on hänen ja Jeppe saa pysyä lattialla tän yön! Tän illan projekti oli vielä kylvettää Dägä mutta kumpikohan noista oikeasti tarvitsisi sitä kylpyä :) Ehkä mennään koko suurperheen voimin! Näihin kuviin näihin tunnelmiin reportteri lopettaa ja Valtteri voi vielä jatkaa kauden raportointia, huumoria!! Kesällä sitten Hankoon asumaan uusiin ympyröihin ja tervetuloa sinne excursiolle. Ainakin Juhannukseksi ollaan suunniteltu isoa juhlaa :)

... plussa ja vaikka loppujen lopuksi ei kovin montaa kertaa päästy ees vetämään siihen nähden, mitä oli tarkoitus, ni jotenkin päästiin ees lajiin sisälle ja homma alko jopa mulla kulkemaan, joten kiinnostus herätetty! Ollaan nautittu myös suunnattomasti kaikesta liikkumisesta, ulkoilusta, Dägän kanssa lenkkeilystä, pitkään nukkumisesta ja yövalvomisista, herkutteluista ja viinin tissuttelusta. Ainoot ihan kunnon bileet oikeestaan oli tänä vuonna Derbyt mutta mukaan ...

... Guiden eli opastoimiston luokse laudan, kun käyn kaupassa ja nytkin oli tarkotus vain hakea juustoraastetta mutta Pellen baarissa oli kamapörssi ja after meininki, joten käytiin siellä. Ei voi näköjään enää Graveen luottaa vaikka uskonkin, että syyllinen on joku pääsiäisitalialaispelle. Perse. Kyllä otti päähän, kun kohdattiin karu totuus ja oikeasti ei kukaan menetä yhtäaikaa kahta lautaa!!! Vakuutusyhtiö varmaan sanoo meijän asiakassuhteen irti, sillä Valtteri hukkas ...

Illalliseksi oltiin ajateltu hakea pizzat, kun Erkillä oli matkaväsyä Euroopan halki ajamisesta mutta jälleen kerran Graven ravintolatarjonta petti ja jokainen ravintola oli fermé. No Anni pääsi kokkaileen. Huomenna täytyy kyllä tehä pöytävaraus. Päiväksi mennäänkin huomenna hengaan yläterdelle ottamaan aurinkokylpyjä. Jep mutta nyt Valtteri lopettelee pelejä, niin katsotaan vielä muutaman sarjat ja relataan yhdessä.

Aivan uskomattoman kuumaa. Alueelle oli luvattu kuulemma jotain +19C ja niin se todella onkin. Pelkässä hikipaidassakin tulee laskiessa hiksa, kun ei tuule yhtään ja terdellä vasta kylmä juoma maistuukin :) Toissa päivänä menin pihalle aamukahville ja siihenhän mä jämähdin toppishortsi yökkärissäni niin, että neljään asti hikoilin +50 kertoimen voiteilla vuorattuna ja silti rapuna tultiin sisälle. Aivan täyskesä ja jotenkin se on todella makeeta ...
