      Airport Hotel Sleepover

A travel blog entry by never2late on Feb 24, 2014

We finally land at Suvarnabhumi International in Bangkok, after 23 hours in airports & on planes. We are tired, disheveled and very thankful for a great room with air conditioning, a shower and beds with good mattresses. It's a fast night with our 7:30 AM wake up call for our next flight early tomorrow. We left Portland on Sunday morning early …

... similar to the Mekong excursion we had taken outside of Saigon. I was proven wrong though as soon as we got to the taxi drop-off at one of the longboat boathouses. The only way to get to the market is via longboat and all the "shoppers" do their shopping via boat. So, we provisioned a longboat driver and boat and away we went through the canals to get to the entrance to the market. Before we got to the market itself, we stopped at a coconut sugar ...

The tiger temple proved to be far less eventful, albeit a little surreal. Most of the tigers are hand reared and are quite accustomed to being touched and stroked. At first I was a more than ...
