saw a MASSIVE tarantula crossing the road in front of us, Charlotte

there were no gas stations in the park and we'd forgotten to fill up

... is, there’s not a lot else to see. Apart from a few more trees. Well, actually, a lot more trees. It hasn’t changed much from 20 years ago, but then, to me, trees are trees. Once you’ve seen one, the surprise factor from tree to tree kind of dwindles.
Anyway, we headed back to the car where there was a male black bear roaming on the edge of the car park. He was quite happy to have a load of tourists photograph him at ...
Yesterday we spent most of the day in the hotel because it was too hot. We did look at the museum though and at sunset we went to Zabriskie Point where there was amazing views.
Today we drove 6 hours through amazing mountain scenery to Visalia where we're staying at the Marriott Hotel. The book describes Visalia as charming and presentable but it’s more like dated and dull. Everything here is shut by 4pm on a Saturday!
... the California coast are the tallest, but the sequoias are the largest in volume. We were able to walk around on the well laid out trails, visit the museums. There was a free shuttle service in the park to take us from place to place. It was a lovely place to spend the day, the weather was pleasant. However when we returned to the motorhome in Visalia the temperature was well over 100 F so we were glad to have AC and glad to have spent such a pleasant day in the mountains.
Visalia, California, United States rosemarys... one town we passed they were advertising "Good second hand housing". In the yard were a couple of double wides and some trailer homes in various states of disrepair, most probably at least 20 years old.
Tomorrow we will take a shuttle to Sequoia National Park. They strongly recommend no motorhomes go into this park. It is 101 F here today (for those of you too young to know what that is it is about 39 C) We are very glad to have air conditioning in our motorhome.
... at Stovepipe Wells. I think this is where the Stovepipe exits because the temp' here was 120 when we arrived.
We have been recovering in our air conditioned room with showers and relaxing til I came down to the guests lounge which has Wi Fi, so here we are looking forward to leaving this really hot stuff behind tomorrow, although they tell us Vegas can be 100 plus a lot of the time.

This long blond mullet haired, eagle feathered, muscle bound later day hero is clad entirely in black and travels the length and breadth of the US legally hauling people back to jail. They jump out of their various cars wealding huge army type guns to arrest traffic ...
Moorpark, United States chezgra... place, a long street with the station, well a area where the train stops from LA twice a day and a few buildings. They seem to be trying to rejuvenate the place with so far some 'nice' restaurants, the old theatre and an art gallery, which would be great and such an opportunity to make a 'centre' for Moorpark which at the moment seems to be mostly malls and housing. Anyway, after worrying about where to park because of the 'crowds' there was no one there and ...
Moorpark, United States chezgra... with 4 men!! Went into Sears, went to the drier section, Gary asked 2 questions, is it Gas? (needed this) and is it in stock? We bought the qualifying drier!! Gra was very impressed took 3 minutes in total just the sort of shopping he likes. They brought it home in the SUV and Gary fitted it and we were able to start our washing cycle again!
Moorpark, California, United States chezgra... at our hotel. San Fransisco is a really pretty and very hilly city. Some of the slopes I wouldn't want to walk down, never mind up! We spent time in the harbour soaking in the atmosphere, wandered the shops and of course took a boat cruise which took us under the Golden Gate bridge, which is actually the smallest bridge in the city, but definitely the prettiest. We also took a tram ride into the city centre which started out being relaxing and good fun, but as more ...
