... off, when we told the lady we were from NZ, she brought us complimentary glasses of Limoncello. It turned out, her son had lived in NZ. It's amazing how much the attitude of restaurant staff change affect your dining experience. Le Foch gets an A+ from us for its ambience, service, conviviality and food.

This is our last night in the camper until 17th September, as we check in to our next house-sit tomorrow afternoon in the Charente-Maritime region about 3 hours south of here. ...

Day 4.  Only done 280 miles.  Lol.  At this rate we'll only reach Bordeaux by the end of our hols.  Best get our foot down.  Trouble is.. Parked car, Dropped bags off....lets go explore. Not our favourite city. Best ...

    ... Bordeaux...

But that's where the dark side comes in.

These towns, great fun to visit and really popular with French visitors too from what we saw --were France's chief ports in the slave trade - the triangular trade.

Both the Palace museum in Nantes had rooms devoted to this theme.

In La Rochelle, the Museum of the New World reminded us-- only too well-- of the horrors inflicted on the inidiginous populations of the ...
