This morning we set off west on the Trans Canada Highway for the first time of many and headed to the picturesque town of Banff. A gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain was on the cards for 2 of us & Coconut! Dan found Starbucks at ground level and stayed with his feet on terra firma. The afternoon activity was a leisurely float down Bow River past the Hoodoos, no heights involved here.

Our accommodation in the Solara Resort was very comfortable, as it was one of the many new places on offer, which is very different to 15 years ago when we last briefly visited Canmore in the summer.
