... our lunch in Stanley’s warm and dry embrace. Who said you can’t picnic in the rain?!

The weather wasn’t any better when we arrived in Banff but that was ok as we had our lovely mountain lodge to check into.

Now it might have been called Mountain Lodge but it was in fact a hostel come hospital!

Breakfast this morning was a good sized buffet, however personally I concentrated on the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup!! (Big diet when I get home!!) Once we had checked out, we ventured up to the Banff Gondola where cable cars flew you 3000m up onto the ...

I enjoyed Banff, sad to move on, and would definitely recommend going! Finally boarded our bus at 3pm, a 7 hour journey of ...

... cooked in pastry rather than crumbed but the serving included a starter and desert for $16.95. Again our drinks bill was dearer than the meal ha ha.

Our room had 2 queen beds so plenty of room to stretch out. Back to reality tomorrow a 250km drive to Vancouver, drop the car off and head to the Weston for our last night in Canada.

Will send more when we get to Honkers in after our 12.5 hour flight.
