What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. So this gets to be a short blog, besides I'm running low on battery :) We walked downtown Flagstaff this morning, nice town, lots of freaks, I fit right in. Then followed Route 66 about a hundred miles to Kingman. That's the longest uninterrupted stretch on the whole route. Seligman was having some kind of car show, lots of nice rides. Even have a red and white clubhouse, for those who know what I mean. Country is just beautiful, rugged yet a kind of gra...
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States 7x70on66Rachel and I learned a few things about the art of road tripping... (1) Schedule the day well, and stick to it--We hoped to be on the road by 9am, spend an hour in Salt Lake City, and only make stops for food and gas. We actually ended up leaving Boise at 9:45am, spent 2 hours in Salt Lake City, and stopped to take pictures a few times (by the "Welcome to.." signs). Consequently, we arrived in Rock Springs, WY, after 8pm. (2) Reserve a hotel room--Arriving at our destination 2 hours later tha...
Rock Springs, Wyoming, United States amcgilli Our first vacation that was "just the two of us", we spent 5 days in Disney World (one of my favorite places in the world!) and - a first for me - stayed outside resort property at the EconoLodge Hawaiian Maingate - hey, it was $39 a night, we were broke college kids, and those park tickets are expensive!
Well Andrew and I managed to get about four hours sleep before dragging ourselves out of bed at 4am-the taxi arrived at 4.30! Ten minutes early! So after a quick scramble for the bags etc we were out of the door.
On arrival at the airport, there was already quite a massive queue-unbelievable! But we got checked in fairly quickly, got free extra leg room for me (albeit right at the back of the plane because i'm not fit enough to open the emergency exits) and managed to have some breakfa...
We left Birch Run, MI this morning at 0730 after having a breakfast of dry cereal plus some very good cake donuts, one with nuts and one with a chocolate coating...yummmmm!!!
It was pretty humid and muggy with the temp at 77 so A/C was needed right off the bat for the first time in our morning start. The sky was partly cloudy with some signs of storm clouds to the north and west.
We jumped off I-75 at exit 152 about 30 minutes after we left the motel to get some go juice at the ...

... Nothing can beat being wished “Happy Birthday” by some of your favorite Disney characters no matter how old you are because unlike what people say, Disney isn’t just for little kids. There is nothing more magical than a vacation to Disney World with your family. Take advantage of the full experience that Walt Disney himself intended for, and stay at a Disney resort. You won’t regret it.
Walt Disney World, Florida, United States epetty... Studio Backlot Tour, and Who Want's to be a Millionaire?, and Toy Story Mania.
After a full day in MGM we made our way over to Downtown Disney for dinner at Portobello Restaurant and then we went over to EPCOT for illuminations.
... not suitable for small kids), The Haunted Mansion (brave little kids would be ok), and Tomorrowland Transit Authority
We also did some shows here - Mickey's PhilaharMagic abd Monster's Inc Laugh Floor, and the afternoon castle show.
We also managed to somehow squeeze in a parade! We had great seats thanks to Kevin's know all - and the characters came right up to us because they all knew Kevin - it was great fun!
... ride Soarin' which I absolutely LOVED! It is a great ride - feel the wind in your hair and see the gorgeous sights of California. We walked quickly around the countries - but didn't really get to explore them.
I skipped over Mission Space this time - once was enough - and went right for Ellen's Energy Adventure and The Seas with ...
... Caribbean so we walked right on. We walked straight through the line and got right on to a waiting boat. There were a ton of maps and guide books on the seat and floor of our row, though, which was annoying and added to the theory that they hadn't cleaned the Magic Kingdom in quite some time. The ride was cute but nothing special. I really liked the drop in the dark at the beginning of the ride, but everything else was ...
