Today, Sunday, 7/20, we left Butte for Missoula. We took the scenic route (route 1) which is the Pintler Veterans Memorial Scenic Highway --- that it was, very very scenic. This is a roadway through the mountains which run from Anaconda to Drummond. There were signs throughout warning for ...
... to Helena. It was also where the Montana Rail Link lines split going east, one track heading north to Helena, the other continuing east to Bozeman and beyond. Thought it would be a great little spot, except the tracks crossed the highway twice within about 1/4 mile of the campground, so trains blew their horns at the crossing all night long about every 30 minutes.
Well, tomorrow's another day.

Then off to the World Museum of Mining next to the campus of Montana College of Mining and Engineering. Again, doesn't anyone throw anything away anymore?? Amazing all that was in these old buildings which were authentic, but moved here to be more accessible.
