I left Hamilton this morning in the cold and drizzly rain. Worked my way northish to get to Echuca tonight. I am catching up with friends from Darwin who are also on the road AND heading north too but via Tasmania and the snowfields. They can have that without me.
It has been lovely catching up with so many people friends and family over the last 4 weeks but it is time to head north and find some warmth and more work.

There is still a lot of smoke in the air as there are many fire fronts in the nearby towns. On Tuesday we leave Riddells Creek and drive about an hour north to Bendigo. The somke follows us most of the way there. We settle in at Bendigo Showgrounds and by late afternoon the smoke has reached here too. We hear that this smoke is in Melbourne also. It doesn't lift ...

Echuca was quiet except for the numerous Cafes and they were doing a roaring trade - cold weather encourages people to move indoors to eat in warmth. As we did!
