First of all we left the town and drove into the heart of the island, where we went to a small village. Here we went to see an olive press museum, then walked down and saw a traditional ceramic maker. We saw how he made his pots and jars. We then got back on the bus and left that village and went to another village. ... island for tomorrow. I then walked into the port area of town, then had dinner at a roof top restaurant, it had great views of the sun setting, also had good food. After dinner i wandered around the town, i went to the bookshop, went and picked up a new hat and some souvenirs. I then got a drink and some bananoff pie at this beer palace cafe, i then walked to the beach and walked along it. I had a drink, relaxed in a chair and then headed back to the hotel/hostel and did some reading before bed.

... was very full by the end. I then went for a walk, walked down to
the port area and went to this place called coffee and cream. Here i had a coffee and some dessert, then went for a walk back to st Georges beach, took a seat at one of the beach side bars and had a drink here, i then walked along to another bar and had a different drink. After that i walked back to the hostel, read for a bit and then went to bed.

This morning I wake up early and start the day with a run. The streets of Naxos are empty before 7am, except for a few other tourists having a morning walk and two others going on a run like me. I run up and down the stairs to Apollo's gate four times, all 80 steps, and there is another lady there with me. It is do quiet at this hour of the morning and a great way to take everything in. ... so grabbed some frozen greek yoghurt with fresh fruit, and then walked over to the Temple of Apollo or The Portara or the “Great Door” has several names, and we can see this from our room. It is essentially a massive marble doorway, leading to nowhere. It lies close to the port of Naxos on the islet of Palatia which was once a hill.

Apparently the strip of land connected the north of the port of Naxos to Palatia ...
