... public beach access points. We choose the Gulf State Park with a long pier jutting out into the ocean. We had to pay $3.00 a person for the privilege of walking out on the pier and peering back at land. (they get you coming and going nowadays!) ... withstood several hurricanes. We confirmed with Pete's brother, Dan, that it was indeed the house, based on a picture Dan had in his file. Pete also remembered the bridge over the bayou. The school itself is gone, however we did find where it was located.

... we assumed we would be following into the Gulf Shores area? We questioned the wisdom of its route versus our route, once again. We consulted the atlas and our route made the most sense. So we took our route.

Lesson #2: The GPS is a wonderful invention. But, it is not always the only way. But, think about it before over riding it. It may have a very good reason for going its way rather than yours.
