... br> After we cooled down in the lake, we had Pizza for dinner on the patio and watched the sunset. Later we moved to the beach for a campfire, had some S'mores (biscuits + marshmallow + chocolate), beers and a good night. The next day was rather uneventful and quiet, as most of our group went White Water Rafting (plus they had to get up at 7am and I was in the room with our group of 7 and everyone besides me went rafting… I didn't get much sleep, to be honest ...

... beautiful books, with gold embossing and the names of deceased soldiers written in a beautiful calligraphic script. Pages are turned daily and it does bring tears to your eyes to be there. A monument named "Women Are Persons" is surely so important to visit and in some ways to pay respects to. It sits in the environs of the parliament and commemorates the joint efforts of five women who won a legal challenge to have ...

We are staying 4 nights in Renfrew, Ontario to just relax before our next stops Montreal and Quebec. This is a nice KOA campground, expensive but nice on a small spring feed lake that is over 100ft deep. Some people and children are swimming but it is cold water. The campground is full on the weekends with some permanents and people from around the area. Renfrew is a small town with a population of around 7,000, but they have a Walmart and is not to far from Ottawa. The town has ...

... that are still fully operational.
We drive for about 1.5 hours to get to Fort Coulonge. We are staying at the hostel at Esprit - a white water rafting companies camping grounds. This place would be incredible in summer! Sadly for us it was windy and rainy for our first evening. Our accommodation was small wooden cabins. Not much room to move but better than a tent outside in the weather!!
The worst thing about Canada this time of year is ...

Eating up the miles (kilometers?) on the way out of Ottawa, I headed northwest on Canada 17 towards Sudbury. The beautiful Ottawa River was on my right and I motored along admiring the scenery and the lack of people and traffic. Eventually it became time for fuel and a rest break and I started looking for a good place to stop. There were many road signs touting the qualities of a placed called Pembroke so I rolled the dice and took a right turn off ...
