... looking things, violin-ish sounding ones and weird keyboard/piano sounding things. And really cute little twangy guitars. The percussion section was amazing! And then there were solo artists. One solo artist brought a flute onto the stage that was probably 3 metres long. 3 people held it and played the notes with their fingers and the one guy blew into it! Incredible, low, hollow sounds! Wow!
I really loved the imagery that accompanied the music. There were always ...

... because of the trains. We went to Mayersche a giant bookstore in the Centre of Essen for a bit of cheering up. I found some wonderful books that I can use for my teaching in Australia, as well as a really cheap trashy teen fiction written in German that I am reading at the moment and understanding most of it.
When I got back to the hotel we made dinner and then got ready to go out to the Delta Diskothek. It's a giant disco that has ...

... a World Cup promotion. The best part about it is that everything was FREE. They had live singers and radio hosts on stage. First up we had a go at a soccer ball speed camera. The thing that you kick the soccer ball at the camera to see how fast it goes. Turns out Iona had the fastest kick for the girls so she got a free gift bag. Then we got our picture taken with the mascot(again). This time we got a free photo to keep. Next up was the foosball ...
