Historical Traveler Reviews of Best Western Paris Louvre Opera

Perfect location, clean & modern!!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
stayed there 4 nites and have to admit that the location is perfect..a few min walk to pyramid tube station and 10 min walk to louvre; room was clean and modern..the shower pressure was just perfect!! the neighbourhood is full of japanese restaurants and many groceries in the area; definitely would stay there again!!!

Would do it again.........

Spent 4 nights based on reviews posted on this site. We had 2 rooms averaging $125.00 (USD) each including taxes, on the second floor. The room w/double bed was small by U.S. standards but OK, especially if you are neat and organized. (No dresser, and the shallow cabinet-styled closet in the smaller of the rooms held no more than 2 or 3 garments; plan to live out of your suitcase). The room w/two twin beds much larger. Extremely clean and large bathrooms. Tub/shower combination would be difficult for an older guest as tub walls were high (and required agility to climb into). Location seemed safe, and was definitely convenient - grocery store, bakery, sandwich shops all within a block and the metro not much further. I would recommend it to visitors desiring the (upper) middle ground between a luxury hotel and a place they'd be embarrassed to admit they stayed at. Also would recommend it to visitors whose priority is cleanliness.

Lovely Small Hotel, Great Location!

When we come back to Paris one day (hopefully soon) I plan on staying at this hotel again. It is in the best part of town, close to the Pyramides metro station, walking distance to the Opera and Louvre, just off the main street (Avenue Opera), and pretty much central to everything you would want to do in Paris.

We had two rooms, two beds and a bath in each. They are newly-remodeled, spotless, and nicely done. Yes, they're small...but considering the amount of time we spent there, we were not in need of a lot of space. Also, we did not have a lot of luggage. But there was plenty of room to unpack if you needed.

The staff was great, they were friendly and caring. On the day we checked out (Christmas eve) we asked if they would store our luggage for the day as we were catching Eurostar later in the day to go to London. It was no problem for them at all.

I agree with some of the other comments that the breakfast price was pretty high...but when we went out to a cafe down the street, the breakfast was in the 11 Euro range, so they're not that much higher...except they only had continental. Food's not cheap in Paris.

I know that the building is a listed building, and they have done a great job in preserving the exterior and keeping the interior very nice.

The funniest thing was the elevator. We had four small carry-on bags with us, and with the bags, only two people and two bags would fit!! Without the bags, just the four of us would fit in, squeezed in pretty tight. If we were large people it wouldn't have worked. Since it's such a small building I'm sure that there was no way to work a larger elevator into the plan. It's great nevertheless.

I will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Great place to stay in Paris!

We recently stayed at the Paris Louvre Opera for 3 nights. The hotel was spotless and service was great! We had room 520 (triple room) which was huge, very clean and comfortable. It's the only room on the fifth floor and is located just underneath the roof (you can see a picture of it on the hotel's website). The beds were great and the bathroom, quite small, was just perfect for us.

The hotel, which opened in February 2005, is gorgious, refurbished with style and nice colours. Front desk gave us good service as well. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because it was, in our opinion, way too expensive (14 euros/person).

Finally, the location is perfect: only a five minute walk from the Opera and from The Louvre! If you're looking for a nice and clean place to stay in the centre of Paris, this is where to go!

Good value but horrible service

from Monpetit
Having made a resrvation in September(one double for

parents and a room with 2 beds for children), we were

notified that due to a b...of ameican woman who have had troubled with voltage there was a problem and that we should have one of the children in our room for the 2nd night...and as we have made an inernet rervation

for one personn and arriving with 2, it was like this...

Seeing that our reservation was for 2 in each room, we were attributed a very tiny room for parents...and no

diminution of the price...Thgierry was the employee with

such vocabulary(we were very chocked as our stepbrother is US Citizen and my brother works in USA...)...

So nice location, nice and pretty rooms, but for some very samll..(avoid the 419...) and a rude service...

Erik.

Good Value

Very pretty hotel, lovely room and facilities. Bathroom nice. Beds comfortable, alittle noisy but not too bad.

People at reception not too friendly but oyu can get past that. Wouldn't pay rack rate but if you get a good price then this place is definately worth it.

Fantastic location, nice food and shopping nearby.

It is also close to the pick up point for the hop on hop off bus tours.

Would stay here again if got a good price.

Great little hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Great little hotel in excellent location (near Louvre, Opera & close to 2 metro stops). Rooms and bathrooms are small (a bit bigger than cabin size on cruise-ship) but all new furnishings -- fresh & clean. In-room safe & hairblower and tub/shower combo. Helpful front desk staff.

A great point to start and finish a tour in Paris.

I stayed at the Paris Louvre Opera Hotel with 3 other friends in 2 twin bedded rooms for seven nights. One of the rooms was so comfy but the other was a bit small..but it wasn't a minus considering the other things..The hotel is clean..the staff was so helpful and their english is great.

Great location to explore Paris..it's few minutes walking from many attractions. There's a tourism office and a suppermarket and a metro station just around the corner.

We enjoyed our stay there..and certainly will be back to the same hotel if oneday we decided to go back to Paris.

P.S. The photos we saw at the hotel site on the net are exactly what we found there.

Perfect for site-seeing in Paris

from A TripAdvisor Member
My mom and I spent three nights at this hotel. It was my mom's first time in Paris so we were mainly there for the site-seeing. I've stayed in the area before and it is generally a good neighborhood for a decent hotel at more reasonable prices. The hotel is compeltely new which was really nice compared to many other places you might stay at! Breakfast wasn't free and was pricey (14 euros) so we ate elsewhere. The people who worked there were very nice and spoke English for the most part. Its a block from the metro which was nice and the Louvre was just a quick walk away. Definitely recommend it as a nice place, clean place to stay, near the metro, and ideal for those looking to spend more time exploring the city.

Great hotel in Paris

from msjm
My daughter and I just returned from a week stay in Paris at the Best Western Louvre Opera. It was my first trip to Europe and I found no reviews on this hotel other than on the hotel site. I took a chance on it since it was the location I wanted and was new(opened in Feb). The hotel was spotless and the service was great. The staff spoke English and was helpful in answering my questions and got tickets to a show for me. The room was very small and we had to put our suitcases on top of the desk (no room on the floor) and the bathroom was also small, but I was prepared for that after reading other hotel reviews. However, the room had a high ceiling with a full-length window that opened, wonderfully sleeping beds and thick drapes and bedspreads. The bathroom was immaculate with a shower/tub. It was air-conditioned and had one English-speaking TV news channel with news and weather. The hotel is on a side street off the Avenue Opera and was very quiet. It was a five minute walk to the Place de Opera and the Louvre. We felt very safe in the neighborhood as we were out late every night. It is not the Ritz, but you are only there to sleep, so I highly recommend it if you are looking for a reasonably priced small hotel in a great location.
