God is good. All the time.
We did a load of laundry at the hotel and after a fine hotel breakfast of white breads and sugars we set off toward Abilene with the goal for the day to make it to Caprock Canyon State Park. We were all looking forward to the camp thing again after a couple of hotel nights.
Some of the clothes didn't get quite dry so we hung them on the line …
Lubbock TX to Santa Fe NM
... at that, the two times we were told no water the clerks were Indian and the worst/dirtiest rooms we stayed in were again the same, hate saying these things but it wasn't a coincidence. luckily outside there was a recycle water tank which you had to pay for and the water was warm but we'd take anything. Back to the road, it was 70 miles today and we SMASHED it, best day so far I think our average speed was 21/22MPH the roads were flat, not the greatest ...
Big Texas shopping week...

After feeling that I had gathered adequate information we pulled out to continue our undercover work browsing through the antique shops lining 34th street and checked out the official team store of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. I called over to Hub City to see if they would gives any more or any different information. Between VW and Hub's stories we were able to pull out a best and worse case scenario of the departure time ...
Road Trip - Part Deux
... kids and I were here in May we met up with a little kid at the Skate One 9 skate park who just wanted a helmet so bad and he had nothing but a really worn out board. I had told him that when we got home I'd send one to him but I lost his address and was just sick about it. Once Carmel and I got settled into the hotel we took a big bag of helmets, pads, wheels, boards and some really nice skate and surf clothing over to the cotton silo ...

“ a little grungy ”

We were sidelined on our southwestern camping trip by a large deer and the tow company dropped us off at this BW. It is satisfactory, but seems a little grungy and not vacuumed well. However, in true BW form, they have everything we need here. Micro, fridge, breakfast, internet, etc.
