    Ok first things first, the kids and I have decided that we love it here and are never leaving. It really is bedrock city come to life.     ... to check out and drive back to Vegas but instead we cancelled our reservation there for a few days and will be literally waiting out the storm until Sunday and leave from here then. According to the authorities it was safer to stay put.

    During a break in the rain, we headed out for coffee at Koffi on East Palm Canyon Drive downtown and came upon a pod (also called a 'scoop') of pelicans and managed to capture them on video. Wow. The video on this entry says it all. Enjoy.

    ... spend the night sharing wine and chatting to our new friends from the frozen North. Brilliant night!

    The desert is beautiful to wake up in. the nights are cold and clear, but the sun in the morning is bright and the heat returns almost immediately. John, in his huge camper van invited us in for some hot tea and breakfast. campers are really nice folks. we exchanged details with our new friends and packed up and head on our way.

    We went through when Taya woke up this morning to find her up on all fours rocking. Slow down little lady, that's quite enough milestones for one week.
