      We enjoyed the ride today. It took me a little bit to get used to riding on the other side of the road, however the bike paths are fantastic and everyone rides bikes around. It's amazing!       ... who we had lunch with today. We had our safety briefing so no need to worry as we now know how to put on a life jacket, I for one will sleep better tonight. Turns out the canals are only 5 five meters deep and our ship is six meters tall so we just have to run up to the sun deck with our drinks!       ... park one day! Many people own small personal boats here which they are allowed to park anywhere along the canal. They are taxed $50 euros per meter a year for their boats but are not charged any moorage. I think Amsterdam was made for Jamie as it's the land of bicycles, boats and beer....three of his favourite things! We are looking forward to the next two days of exploring this beautiful city!       ... leading me to believe that the garbage men might be on strike.

      It's not like the Dutch are slobs and chuck their trash wherever they please, they don't. It's a small country, so I'm sure the landfills are at capacity. The trash cans and dumpsters were overflowing with garbage, with one Starbucks cup neatly stacked on top of an orange juice carton. We didn't take any pictures of it, we don't want you to get the impression that Amsterdam is not awesome.

Another thing I loved was how throughout the museum descriptions of the letters he wrote to his brother Theo about his paintings and what he wanted them to mean and portray.
