... Everyone was swapping details etc and the mood was a bit flat as it was our last night. Many people were there just for a holiday so the realization of work looming was setting in and leaving a pretty tight nit group of friends that we had made. Sorry this is a poor entry but cant remember much more about the day other than coach, beach & dinner! Photos on San Fran and here will have to follow as dont have much time!
Carpinteria, California, United States edwardallinTaking a drive with our new car, we headed out to Malibu for lunch at Geoffrey's. We were there at the perfect time, just before the real lunch crowd. We got a prime table, up front, closest to the view of the ocean.
We had a starter of champagne and oysters. There were very difficult to resist, given our surroundings! The oysters were delicious and we just had to have a second serving! We followed with a starter of tuna tartare and mains of a steak sandwich for me, and a ...
Our day started off as a "nothing much to report" day, as the plan was to just do some shopping at the outlets and large stores on the way to LA. We were done with the shopping about 6, and were back on the road again.
It started to drizzle on the freeway. It was raining on and off all day when we were shopping, so no surprises there. Unfortunately, the wipers on Andy started playing up!!! What the ****!?!?! The rain was ...
9 a.m. call time. Casual day finally. First location was Uncle Ed's USC red 50's Mercedes. Antonio was posed on & around this car. 2nd shot was the avocado orchard alley behind the main house. 3rd shot was under an abandoned red lamp over a dry gully with the red velvet throne. After lunch Hector ...
Carpinteria, California, United States fotogeeks7 a.m. call time. First we had to move Uncle Ed's classic Wurlitzer jukebox down to our 2nd location. The Joshua tree on the property is the largest, greenest, most magnificent of its kind I've ever seen. And did I mention it was blooming flowers!! It was our second location, but directly ...
Carpinteria, California, United States fotogeeksI never realized that there are a lot of things that I still needed to know about the stock market. It was ambitious for me to even consider the idea of getting into it when I am also a very ignorant person. I realized that all the stuff happens in the stock trading room! I am really embarrassed for not even knowing that it ...
Cabrillo, California, United States lindaabrams09... the RV while we drove in our SUV to go visit family and friends. My son Carlos, his wife Tracy and their precious daughter Carlyna-Bella (17 mo. old) had just spent almost two weeks over on Maui. While there they visited with my daughter Sandi and her significant other 'Bear' and also spent a week with another couple from CA who also have a baby girl about the same age. So we were waiting for them at their home when they came ...
Oxnard, California, United States chictravelers2... water temperature was around 52 degrees. JD took us through several sea caves. He would show us how to maneuver the waves and let them carry us through the caves. There were some so tight I was not sure Kevin and I could squeeze the kayak through. We made it every time and it was a great adrenaline rush. The shoreline was absolutely beautiful with all craggy cliffs and rocky coastline. In the distance Kevin saw a whale diving and a harbor seal was ...
Oxnard, California, United States becsher... schedule is pretty much locked in with hotel reservations and pre-paid flights, events like the Hoi An flood in Vietnam won't throw much of a wrench into our plans. That said, we have enough flexibility to go with the flow, so to speak. We leave on 11/28 at 10pm and arrive in Bangkok on 11/30 at 7am. Then it's off to Hanoi at 10am ...
Simi Valley, California, United States steve_julieWe made it home in one piece. We each had carry on luggage that must have weighed 50 - 60 pounds each. Randy complained the whole way but I knew he would be happy once we got the souvenirs in place. Our connection at Heathrow sucked. And we're not very fond of British Airways. They do have the best airline food we've ever had though. There's no place like home. Next adventure - who knows. So many places, so little time. XOXOXOXO
