... Until the new vault was completed he was placed in an existing, smaller vault on the property. It was stinking hot today, sweat dripping down your face hot, so we did not spend too much time walking around in the grounds. The Museum and Education Centre had air-con, several short movies and lots of information. We caught the bus and two trains back to our station, Foggy Bottom. Unusual name for a suburb. The national air and space museum displayed Apollo 11 module which Neil Armstrong and buzz lightyear ( I mean aldrin) returned to earth in 1969. The spirit of St. Louis where Charles Lindbergh spent 33 hours inside the tiny cockpit flying for the first time from New York to Paris and the highlight was famous ...

Stayed in the very nice town of Alexandria at the quirky Monaco Hotel. What a contrast after NYC. It was like stepping back in time, just walking round the streets. 3 nights here. Went to super restaurant called Brabo which was certainly one up from the night before, the Fish Market. A real fast food joint! Caught train into Washington DC to see the sites. Very hot and humid. ...
