In the afternoon, Tom & Jared went for bike rides. Jared rode around Pike Bay and Cass Lake, and Tom met him part way home. The girls and I went over to Mom's cabin and played some Shanghai. We then had Mom & Dad over for dinner, before finishing our card game and then going for a late ice cream cone at our lodge. ...
We somehow managed to drag all three kids (Jared, Leah & Chloe) out of bed this morning to go fishing. We opted for our favorite spot...Pike Bay. After ducking under the bridges, and floating through the channel, we pulled into the lake. As I scanned the water for my mom and dad's boat, my eyes were drawn to a branch just off the shore. We all slept in today and spent the morning just relaxing in the cabin as the weather was a bit cool and too windy for fishing. Around noon we decided to "do the Walker" thing...Walker, Minnesota, that is. Usually this means the girls and I drive the car down and do a little shopping while Tom rides his bike down and meets us. I decided to shake things up a little bit this year, ...

Later in the evening, we heard that Seth and Maddie had made it home safely, and after getting a battery jump on her car from our helpful neighbor, Maddie was on her way back to Hudsonville. I spent some time visiting with Mom and Dad at their cabin, and gave Mom a refresher course on how to play solitaire. Then Tom and the kids (Jared, Leah & Chloe) joined us at Sah-Kah-Tay for some ice cream to finish off our night.
