Senza infamia e senza lode, stanza grande e pulita. Giusto per riposare e ripartire domani freschi per la prima vera tappa, Memphis!

Left Memphis this morning in the glorious sunshine although a little on the chilly side (47F). Not much to say on this day except that we basically drove clear across Arkansas. We planned to stop in a Flying J in Texarkana so just short of the city we pulled in, gassed up, got ourselves fed up and are heading out to the trailer to spend the night.

If all goes well we will be in Tye, Texas tomorrow, ...

... gems are just sitting on the ground. We didn't find any, but it's an engaging activity; you end up really trying to find your prizes amongst the millions of tiny stones your either sift through or sluice. I was exhausted by the effort, myself, but I have to say the facilities here are very good. I would do it again sometime in the future.

Today, we head back home. The weather itself may be our on the road adventure, but so far, so good.

... to learn to move with the elephant as it moves (like riding a horse), you can get more stability if you hook your feet under their ears, and in the part of the show when Lisa and Tracy lie down, the women need to know how to adjust as the elephants take to the ground and then get back up again. I’ve never ridden an elephant before (hopefully that will change this season) and Reyna and Zefta make it all look so natural and easy since they’ve been riding for a long time. ...
