    Lafayette Louisiana is about 2 hrs away from New Orleans, and known for its Cajun food (versus Creole in Nola). We went on an amazing food tour by local Miss Marie, who taught us that Cajun is actually an American *******ization of "Acadian," the name for a group of French settlers in Canada in the 17th century, many of whose relatives eventually ended up in Louisiana.

    It's been a fair while since I have posted. Albany Georgia was great. Rob has the greatest family! We stayed with his cousin Greg. What a kind and gracious man. He drove us around for two days.     ... NPS sign, and I was thinking "oh no". "Oh no" because we are currently in a government shutdown and all national parks are closed! Yep, it's closed. Well, so much for Vermillionville.
