    Day 7
Long day riding. Stayed off the Interstate Highway but was a great deal longer to get to my destination.

I was going to stop at Shreveport for a cold drink but circled the town and decided to head off to Alexandria via US 171 South (The Scenic Route - according to the HD Touring …

After driving back highways through a lush and hilly eastern end of Texas, I finally crossed into Louisiana.  A few miles into the state, traffic slowed at a police checkpoint.  Now some of you may not know, but I was a little worried about being profiled as a loony left coaster in my eco-friendly car with California plates.  While I may have nothing to fear, my concern was about getting pulled over for going 4 miles over the speed ...

The bike was repaired and delivered by about 3 pm and by 4 pm, we were driving around Lakeshore Blvd admiring all their extensive ...

Especially in Louisiana which is so flat that any kind of barrier wipes out about 99% of the view! At one point we drove over a raised section through some swamps though which was kinda cool. So..Nottoway Plantation - The South's largest antebellum mansion. It is a huge plantation house dating back to 1859, which for American standards is very old. It is a beautiful ...

One week from today I will walk out of the office, start running around like crazy because I just remembered things I still need to get done and then start packing. Saturday I'll check and recheck my list of things I want to make sure I, phone charger, tablet, plenty of underwear, sunscreen, sunglasses.....then feel horrible because it will be time to drop Cartman off for boarding. Then it will be early ...
