... a pet deer named backstrip. Yes, it was an actual deer and Blake as I pet it. Then as we were talking to these people the local county sheriff pulled up in his car ( which apparently he did every day). This sheriff was about 65 or 70 years old, had a six shooter revolver and also quite a big amount of chewing tobacco. Before leaving the sheriff told everyone that he would see them on Sunday at church (which everyone says to everyone in the south). Tomorrow we have a short ...

More tomorrow or thereabouts... Pics included this eve, if I get my assets in gear.

The guy answered "No", when I checked, but had little else to share. I did notice that he took a "dip" prior to loading the tractor, so I knew I was in the real down to earth southland. A man after my own heart, fo' sho'. We lunched and hit the narrow road again.
