... only goal of the night which was scored by Jets in the first 20 seconds! However, after booting some people out of our seats we were finally able to sit down and enjoy the game. None of us had been to an ice hockey match before so it was all very new and exciting. We bought nachos and pizza in the break, it all felt very American. The game was rougher than I had imagined, we weren't sure of the rules but there seemed to be a lot of contact. It was ...

El Pipila was a miner who became a hero during the Mexican War of Independence when he strapped a stone to his back to protect himself from the musket fire of the Spanish, and set the Spanish fort on fire, allowing the Mexican insurgents entry to gain the fort. The view from El Pipila is impressive, during the day and at night.

down into the ground. We realized we should have brought spray paint or at
least a Sharpie to leave our mark upon the cars that stand there. Years upon

... off" bus stop straight across the road from us! So we bought a pass and got the next bus for a tour of the city centre. It was quite a surprise for us to see that Chicago city is very well laid out, has numerous very pretty gardens and parks and is litter free! We had expected New York style rough and tumble, but this is one nice place! The tour took about 2 hours and we saw all the major buildings and also the beautiful waterfront along Lake Michigan, as well as ...

... ice and snow. The beaches are of course quite different in the warmer months and attract plenty of people for swimming and sunbathing. We followed the lakefront around to Navy Pier. Plenty of hardy joggers and people walking dogs along the way, despite the freezing conditions. Not too much happening with the outdoor attractions given the weather, but the indoor areas were still crowded with tourists and locals.
