... with Mom and Dad for lunch at this place called the Dog Haus. It specialized in hot dogs and the one I had was very tasty. We then took the folks to see the Rose Bowl and walk around Old Pasadena (the place with all the shops). We then decided that the day couldn't end without getting Cold Stone Ice Cream, so we drove to Monrovia to get some. Once there we discovered that they were having a fair of some sort and there were a bunch ...

We managed to find Providence Christian College and get all settled into our dorm room. ... We headed for Third Street Promenade, which is the main shopping area of Santa Monica. It is only a few blocks long but filled with lovely shops, bars, cafes and street performers. It is a walking street only and neatly decorated with pruned dinosaur bushes, interesting!

That night we went to the Universal Studios CityWalk as they had the last night of their Fright Fest so it was open until 11pm. The place was absolutely packed. It was full of all the typical ...

    Reflections on a great trip

... be the president of Ecuador, asked me what my dreams are. Like I usually do when a long-haired stranger starts asking me too-intimate questions, I skedaddled out of there. I answered his question first though, saying that this 2 month trip around South America was one of them. And I do really feel that way. Put on the spot, I couldn't articulate other dreams of mine and even with time to think, it's hard for me to think of what else ...
