I was accosted at breakfast yesterday by a woman telling me how thrilling it was that I was going to have a new little prince or princess. ... rain. We wanted to head over to the International Rose Test Garden and waited for the bus. After it didn’t come for a while, I checked the sign and apparently it doesn’t run on weekdays after Labor Day. So we made the mile or so hike through Washington Park to the garden. What a beautiful garden! With literally thousands of rose bushes in nearly every color of the rainbow, it was truly spectacular. Even in the light drizzle, we spent a while walking ...

... 50 cents to finish our laundry and someone in the gift shop offered it to us. Small things but still nice people.

We decided to take the bellhops advise on dinner and went to the top floor of the tallest building in Portland to eat at the Portland City Grill. It just so happens that the building was 2 blocks away from us so that helped with the decision as well. The bellhop told us we should just eat ...
