The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! And, the pillows were quite fluffy and heavenly to sleep on. The breakfast was very good as well. I liked that they had a big TV to watch a morning show while you had breakfast.

... I think we were in the air by around 10 PM. I settled into my first class "suite" for the overnight flight to Heathrow. The two female flight attendants who served me during the flight were so jealous I've got tickets to Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch. I think one of them would have bought my extra ticket if she wasn't flying back into US tomorrow.

... on to Newark airport without incident, negotiating the motorways with ease thanks to our faithful Barb (GPS). Surprise find: Morristown New Jersey is definitely worth a visit Travellers Tip: When crossing into he US have the details of when you will leave US to return to Australia at hand. Thats what the border security people seem to want to know the most. Dunkin Donuts and Taco Bell are definitely cultural culinary experiences ......... but once is ...

Got up early to grab a cab to the airport. He was a very nice man. When we were on the highway, he tried to explain that he needed to change the tariff, upon exiting the core. The meter clicked 10 cents every second after that. The cab fare was around €25.

No problems at the airport. That biz class ticket is the best. There were a gazillion people in the TAP line, and only one person in the biz ...

... kind if charm that, well, usually alludes me in such situations! I put my hand out and said "I actually have a spare ticket, it's yours if you are willing to spend the next few hours explaining baseball to me?" Perhaps underselling my knowledge of the sport, just a touch. With but a few seconds until the train made up her my mind for her, she grabbed my hand, jumped through the closing doors, and joined me on the platform...and off we went, I was alone no more!! Now, if that had ...

... tomorrow! Oh yes and this morning I got the Washington room thing sorted - booked another room with airbnb and phoned them up to sort out refunds. Only wanted my original booking refunded but they ended up refunding that one, the new one and also giving me a $100 voucher for our next booking!!! So we're happy :) So after the rock we made our way to Brooklyn which is actually really pretty! Sat on the promenade with an amazing view of ...
