The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! And, the pillows were quite fluffy and heavenly to sleep on. The breakfast was very good as well. I liked that they had a big TV to watch a morning show while you had breakfast.

Shuttle Service is Great!!!!
I don't think it was a bad hotel me, my husbad and his family stayed here the night before our cruise. We arrived at about 1am (going around NYC for the day). When we first arrived the guy at the front desk handed us our key and we went up to our room, well we put the key into our door and it didn't work. It took us 3x before the guy from downstairs came up and used the hotel's management key to open the door for us. We ended up not getting a key for the room. But it was for only one night, so it didn't bother us too much. The shuttle got all 5 of us and our luggage to the cruise terminal with time to spare. On the way back, the same thing, we didn't have to wait long at all, we got off the ship at around 10am and we were back to the hotel luggage and all by about 11:15am. So all in all I would have to say it wasn't a bad experience, it definetly needs to be updated and cleaned a lot better, but we all agreed we would use them again for our next cruise! I gave them above average because of the shuttle and because it's free parking for up to 10 days so it saved us $70 (the price to park at the terminal for 6 days).
Helpfull Staff and Clean Rooms
I stayed there in the month of June, it wasnt a planned trip but i decided to halt in NJ as i had been travelling for two days. Check in was quick and the staff was very helpful, I went to this huge sized room and after a quick shower went to the Bar in the premises, it wasnt the busiest place but the staff was very accomaditing, Good chat and excellent food. In the morning I was treated to this excellent breakfast which was complimentary and the efficient lady at the lobby checked me out and i was on my way to hit the road. Nice Place and Excellent customer service.
Reasonable Park, Sleep and Fly
We stayed at the The Best Western Newark Airport before flying to Mexico. I certainly agree with other reviews that the location and grounds have something to be desired, we did have a nice view toward the NYC skyline including picking out the Statue of Liberty. Very close to the airport and easy to schedule the shuttle for delivery and pick-up. The breakfast was very good including made to order waffles, cereal, pastries, fruit, yogurt and juice choices. The room was very large, although had not been completely vacuumed for our arrival. We would not have chosen it as a home base for several days, but was fine for leaving the car in a secure lot for one week. A good value for our purpose.
The room was neat and clean, the room and bathroom were a nice size, Very close to the airport, and new york city. Decent stay overall, no complaints. EXCELLENT free high speed internet access and free breakfast is a great touch.
We had an early flight on Jan 5,2005,and booked a park/fly night here.
The hotel and rooms reeked of insect spray. The room was dirty. The lounge /restaurant was the size of a large closet and did not open until evening. We walked over to the Ramada(It was still daylight, the neighborhood is NOT GOOD! The Ramada called Best Western to pick us up after dinner) and had a wonderful dinner also their lounge is beautiful. We will stay there next time. The complimentary continental breakfast was not available until 7:30 A.M. which we missed due to our 8:30 flight.Maybe that was a blessing in disguise!
Would never stay there agin
We stayed at the Best Western Newark Airport West because we had an early flight and they advertised a sleep.park.fly program.
The room was not clean. There were hairs all over the bathroom and the rug was not vacummed well.
You could hear the toilet flush and the shower in the next room.
My only positive is that the breakfast was very good.
When we returned, the called for the shuttle and was told it would be right over, but we ended up waiting over an hour. We called 3-4 times during
that hour and the desk kept saying the shuttle would be there in a few minutes.
When we picked up the car, there was a piece of paper in the windshield with another guests reservation and credit card # on it.
The neighborhood is absolutely dreadful.
I would definelty not stay there again.
Nice Place to Stay
This hotel was great!! It is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are huge. The continental breakfast is one of the best I have seen. It included waffles, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, bagels, yougurts and a lot more. We were very impressed. The hotel offers shuttle service for $10 to the train station. This was very convienent, and reliable for us to get to and from New York City. This hotel is also a great value. The offer high speed internet, and all the rooms have a mircowave and refrigerator. I would definitely stay again.
GReat place to stay!!
I booked this hotel for my 21 yr old daughter who is traveling around the country with an internship this summer. Being from the mid-west, I was a little leary of any place around NYC, but I have to say the staff at this Best Western have bent over backwards to help my daughter and her friend during their 6 night stay. Since they checked in after midnight the first night, the room they booked wasn't available so they upgraded them to a suite for no extra charge. They have also been impressed with the shuttle which has taken them to the Penn St terminal and picked them up in a timely manner. The staff has been a big help with directions and where to find things. They have also enjoyed the breakfast, exercise room and laundry facilities on site. Overall, I'd say this Best Western has been a terrific value!!!
Try the Ramada!
This negative review is prompted by the fact that upon getting to Newark Airport we had to return to the Hotel in order to pick up our car which we had left there. The claim check said that a shuttle would arrive within 15 minutes of the time we called the Hotel. When I called the Hotel the person who answered said that a shuttle would be sent immediately. One hour and three phone calls later the shuttle bus arrived. During that time at least 25 - probably more like 50 - shuttle buses from the Ramada, Marriott, Comfort Inn and numerous other area hoptels came by to pick up or deliver travellers. It turns out that the one Best Western bus that was operating had been dispatched - not to the Airport - but to Penn Station Newark. The Hotel representative with whom I spoke after waiting 30 minutes with no shuttle admitted this is what had happened. He said he had no exact idea as to where the shuttle was, but he knew that there was "a lot of traffic." The Best Western Newark website states that they provide shuttle service from the Hotel to Penn Station for a fee. Clearly, a decision had been made to collect that fee by sending the shuttle to Penn Station, even though this meant that persons wishing to go to or come from the Airport would not be provided for. I was sufficiently troubled by this experience that I sent a formal complaint to Best Western which did follow up on this.
Their suggestion: Best Western Newark would provide me an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite on my next visit. I told the woman who called that only a terminal leave of my senses would ever find me back at the Best Western Newark. Apart from the transportation problem, the Hotel is in a trult terrible neighborhood and is sub standar in all respects exc ept for the fact that the tomb like room we had was large. Caveat emptor!
Great place to stay near the Airport
We only spent one night at the Best Western Newark Airport West as we had an early flight out the next morning. Even though short, it was probably one if the nicest stays we had during our two week vacation which included six other stops. Granted, the area outside the hotel is not exactly pleasant, however, this was not a concern as we simply needed a decent place to stay before flying home. If this is what you are in need of, search no further. The price was affordable ($80).
The room was clean and appointed nicely- it even had REAL plants in it!
The airplane noise was very minimal (the walls must be soundproofed) and we were in a corner room (which had amazingly large windows). There is even a computer with internet service and a printer in the lobby that you can use for a small fee. The staff was very polite and helpful- which cannot be taken for granted in this day and age. There is also a free shuttle to and from the airport which runs every half hour.
Breakfast was included with your stay and actually included a wide selection of items- cold cereal, waffles, yogurt, juices, coffee, toast, donuts, muffins, etc. The serving area is crowded but we still found a table out in the hallway. Overall, we would definitely recommend the Best Western Newark to anyone who needed a place to stay near the airport.

I have come full circle today by visiting the grave site of my great grandparents Giosue and Filomena Nucciarone. They were one set of Italian great grandparents who traveled to America around 1900 bringing their children with them. I planned ahead of time to be in Newark a few extra hours before my flight back to Seattle to visit their graves. …
... Park for about an hour chatting with my friend Suzanne. After our chat it was time to find some lunch. I had a few hours before going to a movie I wanted to see so I walked over to the East Village to try a few places that were on my list. The East Village is known for being an edgy neighborhood of artists and punks but is now a mix of people and is a little more trendy. It's still a little bit more of a gritty area, but there are a million fantastic places ...

I was not impressed by the 'attraction' feel but I understand that money is key to improving the area, which is surrounded by a building sight. The actual memorial was really clever and very emotional. The waterfalls down the sides of the square holes certainly represent, in my ...
