I hope everyone had a good Turkey Day!! I was giving my thanks even though the holiday isn't celebrated here. A lot has happened since my last entry. I did get the apartment I mentioned in my last blog. I moved in at the beginning of November and the place is wonderful (I will add pictures with the next entry). I am very blessed to have found a place like this. I can't believe I'm living in an apartment in Seoul that cost $2,000 a month to rent (and I'm not even paying half that amount). Thin...

... weapons that have the potential to destroy all living things on the planet. You have the potential to remove them yet you do not. Your scientists run a super-collider under Europe that could possibly open up a black hole. You continue to bicker amongst yourselves about the planet`s temperature, wasting valuable time needed to prepare for a warming period. Yet your advances in medicine have cured the sick and improved the quality of life in so many. You ...
Uijeongbu, Korea Rep. morpheous... and is quite pleasant to walk along, below street level, Here is a carriage which by the way I have never seen going down the street, and can not imagine them trying to maneuver in traffic. I would be terrified. Here is another Palace or something, I didn't stop to figure out what it was.
Oh and some random statue.
Okay finally at our shopping district, Insa ...
... man still has ups! In the end the KBL all-stars actually one the game. Vlade only played 3 mins in the first half. With about 2 mins left in the game the crowd started chanting for him to come back into the game. So he did! You can tell he hasn't kept up with his physical training since he retarded. (Watters, I think you might just be able to get up and down the court better than somebody ;)]. I would say that 80% of the crowd were English Native fans ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. timmclellan... like a drowned rat, offered me a...moist towelette - as if I wasn't moist enough as it was - though a kind gesture.
Having dried out back at the flat I managed to rush accross town in time to buy a ticket for the Miso theatre show, which is a performance of traditonal dance and music intertwinned around a lovestory taking place over the different seasons. I loved it and would really recomend it to anyone to go and see - the best ...
... to use their phones...and just worried about what was going to happen if I couldn't get in that night!
What else was I feeling that day? I could barely feel. I was just too tired and loopy! But...yes, I was really angry at the friend of my former student. I was ready to find a hostel to stay in. But...now a day later, I can say it was worth sticking it through.
15 hours later...I hit the bed and slept. :)
... temple for lunch. I was surprised, I didn't know it was something I HAD to do, but he told me that 2 of the monks actually walked over to the school asking where I was for lunch. Isn't that so sweet?!? These little acts of kindness and simple gestures can make such a difference and it reminds me that I need to do more of it myself. I often think back to living in the US- how often did I go out of my way to help a stranger, especially a foreigner that didn't speak English ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. truddick... at least some (but not too much!) of our more recently acquired bitter cynicism, and doing our best to make all of you regret not quitting your jobs too and joining in the fun. Our trip will take us through Hong Kong to southern mainland China, then on to India, Turkey, Paris and Amsterdam before ending up in NYC. I'm not sure whether we'll be able to ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. kaitlinandmat... my crying!!!! I sat down and made sure our Korean escorts told the nurse I was super scared,, but I am not too sure it helped the situation. They all laughed at me. Then she tied off my arm and told me to make a fist and cleaned my arm (I freaking hate the way rubbing alcohol smells!!!....That smell always means you are about to be in pain!) and then .........it didn't hurt at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My damn TB test hurt more! I must have had an excellent nurse ...
Seoul, Korea Rep. april.abate... how the telling of news reflects the values, norms and biases of the society on which it reports.
While not as pronounced in Korea as in neighbouring Asian countries, keeping "face" is still a societal imperative. Because of this, the images in stories involving crime, politics and general commentary are heavily edited. In the West, of course, if someone is arrested, their appearance and identity are widely displayed by the media. Here, even convicted felons ...
