... from Nova Scotia (they were "resettled" by the English to many different places - their goal was to disperse them to various places to dilute their influence. They were literally routed out in a short period of time and loaded onto ships. Some came here because this area was French and was welcoming Catholics to come live here, although it was under Spanish rule at the time, but the Spanish weren't much interested in this small part of Louisiana and left them to their own ways. Many, Louisiana, United States pdhvt... and we rated it "Best Small Town" on our first trip Round America...but we liked Natchitoches even better. Several motion pictures have been filmed in Natchitoches, including Steel Magnolias, The Man in the Moon, The Horse Soldiers, NBC's The Year Without a Santa Claus, The American Standard, as well as a Lifetime Television's series Scarlett. We obtained a map at the Visitor's ...
Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States roundamericaMarch ,12 - Today was girls day out. Marsha and I went to Hemphill for an afternoon of girl stuff - shopping and beauty salon. We went to some interesting shops including a clothing store, health food store and one of the local nurseries where we met Mr. River Phoenix (that was the name the owners had given him) there was a Mrs. also. He was such a beautiful rooster that I had to include it in this travelogue.
Hemphill, Texas, United States wecusa... through Texas. I still need to tweak a few things and my next project is making a dual headligt setup. My plan is to setup the lights to have both on, one on, and neither on. The hardest part will be to fabricate the assembly to hold the lights, and to figure out how to mount it to the bike. I think I will also incorporate a way to secure a tool bag to the light mount and windshield.
Natchitoches, Louisiana, United States scottbrown... t catch anything all day that way. Initially Huck was busy baiting for Chrissy as the fish seemed very good at stealing the worm and leaving the hook. After a while, to prove his masculinity, MJ felt he should let Huck do some bass fishing for himself and had a go at baiting. All went well until the worm felt the hook and (not unreasonably) started wriggling. At this point MJ had a screaming fit and undertook what he would later describe as a ...

Fab. Once we got back to Hucks we had an excellent BBQ by the river (with MJ falling off the wagon via a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) followed by another shorter trip back up the river where Kathy and MJ took a swim in the warm murky river for about 30 minutes. It was really blissful. Evening was more dominos.

One of the famous painters was Clementine Hunter who lived until 1988 at the ripe age of 101. Here's the Wiki: Clementine Hunter (1886/1887 - January 1, 1988) was born around 1886 at Hidden Hill plantation. Clementine's first ...

We all took a ride out to town and a walk around the shops followed by a trip to the local college football pre-match tail-gate party. This originated as people eating and drinking outside the stadium from the tailgates of their pickups. Nowadays they seem to have huge gazebos, massive BBQs and no-one spends ...

Not really much to report - just a day in the car but when we got the Huck's place....well it is an estate. He must have originally owned 90 acres along the Cane River Lake which is a wide as the Thames around Reading - it is dammed at each end but has a small current flowing along it. He's sold some plots off but there is a mile dirt ...

But this would give us plenty of time to see one more ranger presentation at eight PM. The dining room in Many Glaciers Hotel was decorated in rustic alpine chalet style with the flags of the Swiss cities and states hanging from the high ceilings. Big windows looking out over the lakes and ...
