... From the airport dock it was a 5-minute walk to the airport itself (officially 7 minutes, but I booked along at a brisk pace through the cold Venice air). I don't remember much about flight #1, except that I slept through most of it. Massive sleep-deprivation will do that to you... The second leg, from Paris to Salt Lake City, was an 11-hour flight. No huge updates today - had a nice, lazy day after eight hours of sleep. I think that's the first time in years I've slept more than five or six hours - fantastic! Bill Rockwood had given me a lift from Perris Valley to his home in his VW Rabit (a Golf). His girlfriend Judy and he gave me a comfy bed for my overnight stay - lovely hospitality to this wayward Aussie. Bill was a local skydiver and had juped at the Perris RW seminar too. Next day they had to work and I needed to head off to the ski slopes of Squaw Valley before meeting up with my sister at the SF airport. Bill, Judy and I would meet again.
