    ... a site for the night. We are right on the lake and there are only about 6 or 7 other RVs here with people of our generation. There is a nice breeze off the lake so we don’t even need AC. We are happy campers!

    ... about all the stuff - the house painting - the photo editing - the preparations for my departure on tuesday for Portland. So I said good-bye Otto and set off from his place with my kayak back on my car around 12:30. I made it home by 4 pm and tried to get some things done, but as usual as soon as I brought out my paint can, the sky darkened. Oh, well - tomorrow, it must be!

    ... the ruined houses near the road which had stunningly beautiful ruined interiors. I marveled that the shingles looked better on some surfaces than my garage siding. The couple mentioned two houses in the wooded. We found one. It was a very large house and had lots of fallen pieces in it but also some intact cedar shingle siding. All in all, quite the discovery.     We checked out of our hotel and went on a boat tour of Lake Placid. We enjoyed seeing the many "camps" along the lake -many with only boat access.     ... road the bobsled-same track as the 1980 Olympics. Both agreed this was an awesome experience-even if it lasted slightly under a minute! The guide on our bus tour gave us details about the history of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics-both held in Lake Placid. All of the runs there now are used for practice.
