We went to Wezzy's Roadhouse in Hamel for lunch which was interesting.
We all had a fantastic ride today through the cornfields and sheltered tree lined roads. In fact, we were all a bit sad when we had to get onto the motorway to cover some of the inaccessible areas of Route 66.

... to have a quick nose bag. We all attended the Road Captains, Ass't Road Captains and Tail gunners brief and were introduced to their opposite numbers in the other groups. All said that they were pleased that we had been selected to fill these positions. After that, and the main brief, we started the ride at 08:00... to Rolla via Effingham.
Day 1 leg1 was a 114 mile run to Greenup to get fuel followed by a quick 24 mile ...
... and the WiFi isn't working right now so the lightning is our entertainment for the next hour or so. The storm passes over relatively quickly and I finally get the WiFi working. (Camp owner with funny American accent trying to tell me an I is an R .. lol).
We also manage to get some much needed laundry done tonight.
Where to tomorrow? Who knows... can't plan too much you know!
