Diego resigns, we visit ruins and drink tequila

... loads of tourists from the resorts on the coast. Mind you it could have been worse - I saw a sign on the way in advertising Sarah Brightman singing at Chitchen Itza - thank God we were spared that spectacle.

The hawkers at Chitchen Itza were brilliant. Their tag line was "Almost free". Then one shouted at me "It's cheaper than Walmart!".

I walked to the cenote, which is a big pool of water, created where an underground river comes to the surface. These places were ...

Tequila, it makes me happy

... escapes me. Ended up in a different location to where we were initially headed on the cabies recommendation and it turned out to be a bit upmarket for our tastes. That said they let us in in our grubby backpacker garb, at least me anyway, and all other patrons were dressed to the nines. Once we were in though they tried extorting 10 quid out of all of us, before before weŽd even had one of their expensive drinks, it was for the band apparently. We left and found a club ...

Arriviamo
a Los Angeles il giorno 15, alle 1300 dopo essere partiti lo stesso giorno
dalle Fiji alle 23. Facendo i conti abbiamo vissuto un giorno 15 gennaio
di circa 40 ore ! Los Angeles mi ricorda per certi aspetti New York, tutto
e' grande, se cerchi un telefono ne trovi 10, se vuoi mangiare trovi tutte

se vuoi imparare una lingua trovi sicuramente qualcuno

The zoo and Horatio Brahm - oh and a party

... the nice gentleman whose name I couldn't remember, but I had already walked back from this place yesterday and it took me a few hours, and I didn't know how to navigate the Metro, so he rode the metro with me again and again paid for my trip. He asked me when we exited the train if he could take me out again to show me more museums. I told him (not a complete lie) that I'm leaving the day after tomorrow and I have plans for tomorrow, but thank you very much. He ...

great experience

Chihuahua has been a great experience.

it is not touristic at all, people ask you why u came? after a while it's easy to realize that people living in here stay here, they don't wanna live somewhere else, between mexican country music, mexican beer and mexican food, the way of life goes sweet and nothing has to change.

Some people stay afraid of drug traficants coz they seems to be pretty gun fighters, anyway after asking to few people: nobody ...

Mexico at last!!!

... knew we had to get a taxi, but had heard stories about kidnappings etc, so we were quite nervous to say the least. We queued up at the Official Taxi rank in the airport and I had to start using my Spanish for the 1st time!! I told them the Hotel we were going to and paid the 160 mexican dollars...bear in mind thereŽs about 16$Mex to every 1 euro, so it wasnŽt too bad. We sheepishly walked towards the taxi, not knowing if we would be getting ...

We're really bummed about leaving the rim.

... but I'm really having a hard time leaving this hotel today. We're hiking to another canyon view from the side parking lot (not that I've seen any cars park while we were here). Huge rocks hang over the valley, so we HAVE to get our photos taken on a few of these marvels. We find another stunning canyon valley view and plop down to soak in the beauty and serenity. I'd like to spend another two days hiking and doing the ...

bring on the tacos.

... which go fast, but are not so cool. Also not cool were their hats - massive, embroidered Sombreros. What some police have to put up with! Most impressive feature of Mexico City - green men at crosswalks (that are green for a start, they are white in South America, I just thought they were faded for a loooong time) and actually walk, I will post a film as evidence, they are super cute dudes. We went to an archeological site an hour out of the ...

Chihuahua

Suprisingly no rat like dogs around this town. Spent a full day out in town as we had to check out of the hotel and we were getting the night bus to Durango. I tried like a goodŽn to find a Mexico top to wear during the games but to no avail. We spent most of the time just trying to walk off a burger king we had for ...

Chihuahua

... we decided to call it quits and return to our motel. In the morning, we had a welcome, leisurely breakfast, but were soon gripped by stomach pains. Making full use of the cafeŽs facilities and then racing back to the motel, we managed to survive 'Montezuma's Revenge', but did not relish the thought of another 6 hour bus journey. With this in mind, we fortified ourselves with Pepto-bismal, and prayed... Dan and Andrea
