    ... got free wifi so I updated the iPad and John loaded a couple of talking books. We then went around corner to the West Tigers Leagues Club and got two 250gm Rump steak lunches for $13.99!!! They were very very nice. We left there and traveled into Mackay and over the Pioneer River to go to Kmart to get mini picnic table but they had none. I will try further up the coast.     ... had two boxes of goon to get through with time quickly running out in Oz) so the night was full of merry laughter, and there was a lot of it! After chatting to an American neighbour who wanted the low down on our hippie van as they were renting one over in NZ in the next month we realised that campsites may be quite full as she let us know it’s going to be a busy easter period the time we are both due to be there. Thanks for the heads up!

    So we left behind St Lawrence on the Saturday morning and headed for Airlie, we had heard lots of good things about Airlie Beach so we were very much excited! We pulled into a petrol station just as we got to Mackay to fill up, we figured the fuel would be cheaper here than once we headed off the main road towards to coast. It was a boiling hot day and we could already feel the sand between our feet and the sea spray cooling our faces down.... However apparently Wilson had other ideas, ...

    ... but a great day nevertheless. We also had lunch with Ian and Julie on their bigger boat in the harbour which they mostly use as a lunch venue ! Lucky things.

    Jeff and Bellinda have been extremely welcoming and great company, they certainly live in a piece of paradise.

    Great news that Mac has had his op and on the road to recovery.
