      ... went into a $1 shop to kill some time and came out a lot poorer but at least Chris and Shells dog and cat will be happy with their new toys ( and Tyson of course ).

      ... the trip was spent trying to cram enough clothes etc for three days into the worlds smallest day bag. Easier said than done. Free pancakes were for breakfast the following morning, rucksacks stored, and then we were given our food, the alcohol we ordered, fire wood, sleeping bags, another safety briefing and by 9.30am we were ready to go. It was a short drive to the ferry crossing, 15 minutes on a ferry and then we were on Fraser. Windows down, music blasting we cruised ...

      ... waiting to come in to be loaded. The port is the biggest coal loading port in the southern hemisphere.

      On Sunday August 10 we will be heading south to Carmila to free camp for a few days and then make our way slowly to Emu Park near Rockhampton where we have got a house sitting job on a cattle farm of 300 acres. We will be there for 10 days looking after 25 cows, 1 dog and 4 chooks.

      We cycled 16.8 Klms through various parts of Mackay and as you can see, through various landscapes : seaside/ bush/ Botanical Gardens/ River flats/ mangrove swamps etc...
