... return home. We were thrilled to say the least. We stayed at the Alpine Lodge in Mt. Shasta, solid establishment and certainly one of the most well priced hotels in town. This has been a nice relaxing place to zero and catch up on all the blogs entries that need attention. Thanks Mt. ...

The tight camp woke up around 7 with a zest in our eyes. That always happens on town day. Town day gets people motivated. We made short work of the miles til lunch, and then I swear we moved faster still the second half of the day. That got us down to Interstate 5 by late afternoon. Swig lives in the immediate area and had his mom come meet him so he can take a few days off at the house. They were kind enough to give us a ...

Overall, the trip was a success. I look forward to returning to Squaw Meadow. I loved it there!

The air conditioning in our car was greatly appreciated! I also didn’t realize that the interstate went right through the mountains for quite a while. The road was twisty and curvy, up and down (sometimes the grade was as steep at 6%). But it ...

... downhill back the way I came for 2 hours to go back to the 5 freeway and take that all the way down thru the central cali coast. This would be the flattest route. But...I would miss Crater Lake this way. Well...damn. This sucks.

I had my whole life in the Jeep and camper and most importantly my girl Shima. And in a few days I was meeting my family in Lake Tahoe. So I had to sadly turn around and keep that one ...
