... Sau Pauloī is not really set up for tourists... We made it to a market in a slightly rough area but the meal I had was nice. Then back on the bus and for the last 4 hours had to sit as part of a young family gathering. Which I enjoyed even more when the youngest child started vomitting...

Still now in Paraty and it is beaches and hot weather all the way...

Everybody told me "why are you going to Sao Paolo, there is nothing to see" but it is wrong. Thanks to Clarissa I have had such a great time, met lovely people, ate yummy brazilian food and saw beautiful places. The city has a very european flair and its trendy.

We took the metro to the bus station, booked our tickets, grabbed a delicious Asian buffet in the Asian neighborhood around Avenida Liberdade, hit the internet (which is an absurd R$4 or USD2 per hour), grabbed our bags and headed back to the bus stand to catch our overnight bus (R$125 or USD65) to Foz de Iguacu. Up next, one of the natural sights of the world I have most been looking forward to seeing, the magical Iguazu Falls.

I am the last one to be intimidated by any city, day or night (outside the USA!), but here it always appears as if a whole bunch of crime is going down, with more shady characters and homeless people in the streets than anywhere I have ever seen.
