    ... the freeway one still can appreciate the harsh beauty of this vast landscape. There is little vegetation so the colours are provided by the diversity of the rock formations, thrusting up here and worn down to flat top messes there. A landscape every bit as inspiring as the previous day mountains.

    ... get done right before dusk, dispelling the myth the pro shop told us "you won't get it all in before dark".

    That evening we ate at Katherine's Prime steakhouse, spending Mike's big winnings from video poker the night before when he turned $20 into $135. It was a glorious day and well worth the money for the golf, after all we did have a great meal for free!

    Enough said, I hope you enjoy the pictures....I tried to pick just a few.

    -on the road by 10am
    -going from vegas to longdale
    - 290miles were driven today
    - also stopped for ice and food total of 32$ spent
    - we had to stop at a gas station right on the edge of longdale
    - i met a mojave indian man selling dreamcatchers there
    - he told me of his heritage and how they lived in nevada for over 10,000 years

    ... of you, we were able to enjoy the wanderings that have taken us across the States and into Central America. We have seen some beautiful scenery but also some very depressing sights. I don't want to sound like a prude or snobbish. I just want to share my viewpoint and observation. While the mountains in Tennessee were beautiful, and the views along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean were spectacular, Jeff and I were both missing the Southwest terrain ...

    ... from St George to Las Vegas can tell you how ugly it is and in some places even more so. One area literally looked like a dump for piles of dirt, sand, and rocks. Any way, this canyon added a bright spot to our trip and made us smile in awe.

    We are now settled in at Nellis AFB. We be here for seven days. On the way out soon to find Dunkin Donuts!
