... Lake, Rancho Del Rea CA and back to the reality of the big city. I stopped to put gas in the bike and found I had to buy the gas first, and if I didn't guess correctly, I would have to go back in and get change for the difference. OK. We are now finishing up our first week at the beach house.

Weather is sunny and about mid-teens. There is a cool breeze off the ocean otherwise it would be a lot warmer. During the day shirt sleeves are fine but in the evening a fleece is definitely in order.

After being at the safari park with it's wide open spaces, this was a teeny tiny bit of a let down. That being said, we really enjoyed seeing the polar bears, hippo, the panda bears (silly baby included), koalas, .

Today we had a sleep in and then went up to the look out with a memorial to Cabrillo National Monument. Great view of San Diego and the bay. Then went for a drive through the city, down through the Gas Lamp area, then onto the USS Midway the decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier. The boys looked as though they enjoyed it and it ...
