Years ago Mom said that she would like to take her 3 daughters to Chile to visit Gloria, who had lived with the Fergusons in 1970/71. Two weeks ago we decided that now is the time to make this journey. Dec. 2 we will fly from Milwaukee to Atlanta, GA to Lima Peru. We will visit Machu Picchu. Then we will fly to Santiago Chile.
... live with all those unanswered questions and am just glad that the interstate appeared when it did. Hopefully, the rest of the drive will be a little less eventful and more steeped in reality.

I was wrong, you can make this stuff up
It was a slow news day
We had a good time at The Wilderness resort. However, their customer service sucks! I found out later that is was not just us. Some other people we know went there about a month later and had the same poor customer service experience.
We enjoyed the indoor water parks and laser tag. Later that night we went to Ho Chunck Casion and had a little fun on the slot machines.
After a long and tiring search of an open campgroung in Checamegan State forest, we finally found a lovely spot next to a lake in a forest with the last rays of sun. We saw deers grazing in the dawn, and Vero was so awed to see them at the roadside, she could not think of the English word for "deer". This is important as Marcos was happily driving along and looking at the left side of the road. Veronika noticed a couple of young deers ...
Chequamegon, Wisconsin, United States veromarcos... we wanted to go early so we could catch a bus there before they stopped running. We left at 6:30 and walked to the bus stop. We still aren't sure what was going on, but for some reason, every bus that came by that was going to the airport waved us off, and wouldn't even slow down. By 8 we decided we would give it up and pay the 23 dollars it would cost for a taxi to take us there. We 6 hours until our flight left, so we played some poker and picked up a last ...
Marshfield, Wisconsin, United States wolfeacWell, only 36 hours until we head to the airport. We are both getting quite excited. Right now James is filing our ice axes before we pack them up. We are 98% packed and have a few things to get done tomorrow. We will try to update as soon as we have a free moment. We arrive in Auckland on their Friday ( our Thursday) and we are going to be staying with a friend and taking a nice shower and perhaps a nap. stay tuned for more info! Carol Lynn
Madison, Wisconsin, United States teamroadtripThis week we discovered something called wwoofing (willing workers on organic farms). There are some beautiful and amazing places we can stay in exchange for a few hours of work a day. There is a place called the Lazy Fish that is on the ocean in the Malbrouro(sp?) sounds that seems quite ideal. I think we are going to be doing a lot of this kind of work as we travel around. You can stay for a week or a month! Kind of fun. Still counting down the days. Carol Lynn
Madiosn, Wisconsin, United States teamroadtrip27 days and counting down! Hello all, James and I are getting ready for our upcoming trip. Madison, Wisconsin, United States teamroadtripI am now in glamorous Green Bay, WI. I head off to Mexico City tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. (oh what fun). I will be in Mexico traveling from Mexico City to Guadalajara for a week and back to Green Bay for my road trip across the country back to California.
Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States armeda_vandam... flowers the bees visit to make the honey. We enjoy purchasing items directly from the source and accordingly, we bought a 3 lb. container of Orange Blossom honey. We had trouble finding a cheese factory that gave tours of their cheese making process because of new health regulations. However, we had no problem finding one nearby. Although they were not producing cheese at the moment, the sales lady did take the time to explain the process and answer our ...
