... formalities rubber stamped, a sprightly 76 year old fella name of Troy helped us with our bags and shuttled us downtown to the MCM Elagante Hotel where we had booked a night's accommodation. We checked in and partook of brunch at a nearby iHop diner, which was like therapy but with pancakes and maple syrup. By 6pm we were sitting poolside sipping Piņa colada and digging the swampy chops of 8 Ball Aitken via the iPhone. This was also ...

... to eat on the plane and knew I couldn't wait until Phoenix, where my layover was less than 50 minutes. So I found a nice place in Terminal D and tucked into a pink lemonade and club sandwich while--I **** you not--the Edmonton Oil Kings/Val-d'Or Memorial Cup semi-final match on Sportsnet Ontario. I have no idea why but it was, all the same, pretty cool to watch a hometown team on a bar TV in Dallas, Texas.

My flight boarded right on time, but there was a change to ...

We bought a truck to carry the camper today! It needs a little work, but seems basically strong. Once we get it travel-ready, we need to go to Arizona to pick up the camper.

In other news today, we also decided to rent out our house (rather than selling), and selected a property management company.

A huge progress day!

Termite Procedures - The Primary Steps

A travel blog entry by visionmole75 on Jul 29, 2014

When termites have been discovered deep in a home, there are typically 2 stages of treatment. The initial, crucial step is to get these pests from out of your home. If done right, this 1st phase may possibly also offer a shot at eliminating the colony responsible. Take note though, these types of interventions won't in reality protect your home and are only the primary step. The nest location may be impossible to determine (it might not be on your property) and ...

Termite Interventions - The Initial Steps

A travel blog entry by visionmole75 on Jul 29, 2014

When termites are found deep in a home, there are typically 2 stages of treatment. The very first, critical stage is to get them from out of your dwelling. When done accurately, this first phase may also offer a shot at eliminating the nest responsible. Bear in mind though, these types of interventions don't really defend your own home and are only the primary phase. Nest position may be not possible to ascertain (it might not ...

    Loved the Best Western

    from

Some of my friends stayed in this hotel during a Nascar Racing week and they liked it a lot.

It is close to Oaklawn (many stores and restaurants available), convenient to the airport, and has easy access to I35, I30 and I75. The manager, Azzim, was very helpful and friendly. I will recommend it.

While in Dallas if you want a nice place to stay I recommend that you try the Best Western Market Center. Centrally located, it's very near the downtown core, the Uptown restaurants as well as the major road arteries. The hotel director Azim and his staff are very friendly, courteous and always willing to go the extra mile to help make your stay a very pleasant experience. I also found the rooms and accomodations to be very clean. Trust me, Azim and his staff will ensure that you leave Dallas with a smile on your face.

    Disappointed stay

    from

I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed in my stay at this Best Western. The carpets were extremely dirty looking and very stained. I expect that things can't be perfect with so much traffic in and out of rooms, but I do expect to stay in a room that I am paying good money for to look and smell clean. The chair in our room was so soiled that I was afraid to sit on it and I didn't. I didn't even want to take off my socks and shoes to walk on the carpet. The toilet ran continuously and there was water running off the seat and lid. My grandchild was in Dallas Childrens Memorial Hospital which is the reason I was there in the first place. I tried many times to get an outside line so I could call the ICU waiting room to get updates on his condition and finally had to call the front desk to find out why I couldn't get a line. I was told oh don't feel bad I can't get a line out either, they're working on the lines around here I guess.I finally went and found a pay phone.I was extremely tired from the long trip to Dallas and sitting in the hospital for 32 hours waiting to see if my grandchild was going to live or not and just didn't have the energy to go somewhere else or I would have done so.I feel like i was taken for my $60 and I don't appreciate it at all. I don't believe I'll be staying at another Best Western again.
