      Friendly receptionist, great location and good rooms. Breakfast at the diner next door was also pretty good

      ... Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. It's only one mile off the exit, right down there service road. You can actually see it from I-40 eastbound. It's pretty cool, if you like that kind of stuff.

      Very, very desolate and boring drive. But, I know the scenery will get more interesting from here!

      On to Sullivan, Missouri tomorrow.

      Oh and gotta say that it wasn't until we reached the Oklahoma City city limits that I saw anything along the side of I40 except tire treads…then they were (does) frolicking in the meadow close enough that I could see the 3 of them yet far enough away from the road that I didn't need to pray for them staying out in traffic.

      ... So Harry had only managed about 5 miles when we found ourselves on a residential road where John was even more uncomfortable with his driving than normal. Harry would have to wait until later in the holiday until he could beat the eleven miles his sister Zoe had driven me two years ago.
