Funny thing is, only a few folk stayed, so i don't know what the craic was.<br><br>Day 62 - Went on a wine tour of Casblanca Valley, visiting 3 wine yards are tasting 6 wines. A nice way to start a day. Had to get back to Santiago to get the rest of my luggage and then head to airport.<br><br>Day 63 - 25th October, a truely forgettable day.

... has so far been an amazing trip. On our last day in Valparaiso we made a trip to the famous beach resort, Vina del Mar. Due to the rare comfort of our private beds, we found it hard to escape its clutches and thus only arrived at the beach resort late leaving us an hour or two to enjoy the beach. One of the hotel's employees has the worst attitude - Ben and I went first for breakfast, but nobody was in the breakfast room, so he went to inform the lady that we were there. Well ... she comes out with breakfast for only one person, and chastises us, saying "He only asked for one coffee!" Apparently, Ben didn't say anything to her, only waved at her to come to the breakfast room. And she never came back with more coffee, or bread. How ...

... shopping complex. It was a multi-level building with a variety of stores. On our way to the 'Jumbo' store, we passed what looked like a department store, an electronics store, a garden store and a home improvement center (I had a hard time keeping Ed out of it). The Jumbo store reminded me of a Big K-Mart. It had groceries and household goods and probably a lot more, but we were only after some Diet Coke ...

... to rent a sweet mini-van and head for the coast. Valparaiso was the original destination. We got there around 11pm on a Sunday. It was dead. Valparaiso is a huge port town, and the residences sit on multiple hills in a manner similar to San Francisco. Endless hills hugged against a huge bay on the coast. ... passing forested green mountains and lots of vineyards, it was a beautiful journey, and in just under two hours we were at the seaside. Valparaiso is a very different Chilean town, it's like Brighton but with a Chilean twist. There are all these brightly coloured houses on these 7 or 8 hills in a semicircle kind a shape. After the mall and a brief sojourn at an internet cafe to check in with family and friends I took a nice long walk down the Boardwalk, going so far as to dipping my toes into the Pacific Ocean for the first time.
