... was built 859 as a fortress. It has the most amazing medieval terraces with an internal garden and the most beautiful room I have ever seen. The poor bellboy who had to carry our bulging suitcases up these stairs (no lift of course) We had a tour of the Castle with the same fellow (who turns out to be the waiter in the fancy Restaurant as well) and even though it was in Italian it was really good. It took us a while to find our accommodation and when we did it was a lot more impressive on the website- it's a farm house, off the beaten track and we are the only people staying there!
