      We travelled to Turin aboard the Frecciarossa, another one of Italy's high speed rail lines. The scenery was a bit more pleasant than our Rome-Pisa leg, we were passing by rural Italy now. Barrelling down at speeds reaching 300km/h, we were passing by Panameras making the Turin-Milan commute (take that rich *******s!).

      ... mountains covered in snow, with glaciers visible everywhere (no more Italian frecciarossa or FrecciaBianca trains, with the free coffee/wine carts that visit the seats after each train stop - boo hoo). The countryside was beautiful, with ski runs on many mountains, towns and villages full of chalets, pale blue rivers, and, shock horror, people wearing coats and hats.       ... many wineries in the region. We also chose to visit the UNESCO site winery in Canelli named CONTRATTO, and toured their amazing huge underground complex and tasted their wines. This winery is famous for what we call in the US asti spumonte, however I had never tasted asti such as this - just delicious and very dry, like a lovely dry champagne.

      Hi all, we woke to another foggy morning in Venice. After disembarking from the ship we found our way to the train station. Stairs and bumpy road ways were causing a bit of frustration for all of us trying to wheel our luggage along and a few choice words may have been said.
