Just that. Nothing special. Stopped at a convenience store, bought a bottle of water and gave a couple cub scouts who were doing a fund raiser a few dollars. Just arrived. Haven't really had a chance to check out town yet. Eating at Subway. Just finished walking more than 2 miles through the gorge. It is very beautiful and nice and cool.
Following a late lunch at Subway I went across the street to Watkins Glen State Park. The park is really amazing, you walk through a stone tunnel and then her into a gorge that is unbelievable. The sheer cliffs and the waterfalls ...

After our wine tasting, some snacks, and a few photo opps by some beautiful waterfalls we started the drive back home to Pennsylvania. All in all it was a wonderful trip and I would love to go back again camping, hiking, or touring any time! And I'm still pretty proud of Joey and I for sticking it out and braving the elements on our first camping trip! ...

However, moving past the negative! The campgrounds themselves were super cool and we did get to explore a few of the trails along the Gorge Friday night and late Sunday afternoon, before and after the storms. We also broke down Saturday night, after very little food and being cooped up in the tent all day, and decided to go into town for some delicious Italian food at Jerlando's. ... in Watkins Glen around 4:30. We are in a nice park right across from Seneca Lake. The Finger Lakes region is really pretty and we were hoping to walk by the lake and take a stroll into town, but it is raining hard and it is expected to continue for quite a while.
