We got asked that question a lot when we would mention Lubbock as one of our stops. The answer to that question is: one of the nicest families you could hope to meet in one of the cutest, and vaguely creepy neighborhoods I've even been in. We drove from Saginaw and headed west across the flat lands of west Texas. I love our dear friends and family in Texas, I don't particularly love ...
Hubs still in a bad way so we set off early for the 200 mile drive to Amarillo. The weather turned en route, became darker and darker and the heavens opened. Rain? Never seen anything like it. Today in Texas, it's been warm but continues to ...
4100 miles so far.

Major gift shop at Cline Corners, NM (for those of you who driven I-95 in South Carolina, think South of the Border, only much smaller) for some Route 66 memorabilia. Then, got off I-40 in Santa Rosa, NM to see a bit of Route 66. Then, off ...
