Hangin' with Marty and family

We pulled into Moses Lake, WA about 2pm. We plan to stay at Marty, Lisa's brothers’ house.

Originally we had planned to get here on 7/9, but in an effort to stay in front of several tornado storms we made it across northern US much faster than we expected. Even after a couple of rest days along the way, we both feel really tired and are anxious to just sit and visit for a week or ...

Those pesky June bugs!

We have reached the end of June and are now in Washington!

This morning, we walked about Sandpoint a bit before we left. It is a quaint little town of about 7,000 people that swells with tourists to the nearby lake in the short summer season. We got a late start Friday heading out of Shoreline, and so we decided we couldn't make it to Chewelah, which was our original destination for this leg. Instead, we ended up at the Mar-Don Resort, a lakeside RV resort on the Potholes Reservoir near the town of Othello, WA (about 20 miles south of Moses Lake).

We've seen some interesting things this leg, including a harvest moon, ...

Touring the first full scale nuclear reactor

Recently I went with Larry Mattingly to Richland, Washington where he had some business to conduct. While we were there we took the "B Reactor Tour" at the old Hanford Nuclear facility.

The "B" reactor was the worlds first full size atomic reactor and was assembled to make the element Plutonium. ...
