Today we woke up early ready for our big hike. We had decided that since we didn't have a permit to stay overnight down at the very bottom, we would try one of the partial hikes this time, then if it went well we could plan ahead more and spend a few days hiking.

We hiked half way down the Bright Angel Trail…full length to the bottom is 6 miles so a 12 mile round trip…might not sound like too much, however there are so many winding paths coming down ...

... Wow the wheel was amazing. Glyn got on despite being a little worried she got carried along with the group. The eats were bread & cheese! It was a lot ...

... was a 6 on the 10 point scale and was quite bumpy, although over quickly. Tom got a big shock when he went flying into the air and landed back down in the boat! We stopped for a brief sandwich lunch - the food was laid out on tables at the riverside and we were then able to make our own sandwiches. Tom discovered some 'sinking sand' that you could sink down up to your knees in and then lean back and forwards, which was very funny to watch. We continued on the ...

Today was a long but really fun day. We got up early and headed toward Hoover Dam. I have been really looking forward to this day for a long time. We seemed to have delay after delay this morning. I wanted to get there about 8:30 but we arrived around 9:30 instead. The place was packed. We got in line for tour tickets as quickly as we could. The next available tour was ...
