I would like to describe for you what it was like, but you'll just have to come some time for yourself. The temperature in the cave was around 60F, so it was a bit cool, but not chilly. This compares with the outside air temperature of 106F. They say the air was humid, but not compared to an Atlanta fall day.

... and lots of desert animals. It was great exercise and perfect cloudy weather to walk outside for 1 1 1/2 miles. After having a fantastic BBQ dinner at local joint we went back to Carlsbad Cavern to witness "bat flight" at dusk. Yet again another wondrous experience to see 200,000 bats fly out of their cave to load up on their dinner and to get food for babies just hanging around in cave for their daily food ...

Spring Break in caves

... we stopped at Carlsbad caverns. All the challenging tours were booked. But we got to visit the whole cave which is ridiculously huge. Kids visited a lot of caves so they were kind of bored. None the less it is definitely worth visiting. There is a lift to get back us up which is very cool.

Kids got to complete Junior Ranger program there an added bonus. That gets us to the end of the trip.
